LogNormal is an easy way to measure and analyze the perceived performance of your web application from your user's perspective.
Measure the performance of your site as your users experience it.
Get instant reports on how your site performs across various dimensions.
Work with our team of performance experts to make site-wide improvements.
Pro accounts can send us up to 100 Million performance beacons a month (roughly 3.3 Million a day). A large number of beacons allows you to drill down to finer degrees with higher accuracy. If your site receives more than 100 Million page views a month, you may either add the beaconing code to a sample of all page views, or contact us for other options.
Your Performance Summary gives you an insight into how fast your users perceive your site to be. The median performance time tells you how fast the fastest 50% of your users perceived your site to be, while the 95th and 98th percentiles tend closer to all users. The Margin of Error tells you how accurate this measurement is.
The real user load time histogram shows you the spread of load times experienced by visitors to your site, helping you identify performance aspects beyond the basic summary. Is your spread flat or does it have an obvious spike? Is it single or multi-modal? Your histogram can tell you if you're measuring the right metric and if further drill down may be required.
The per-minute summary of your site's load time allows you to quickly identify if a recent deployment caused performance regressions. If service was interrupted or slow for a short period of time, you'll see it on your per-minute summary.
Compare your performance over the last 30 days to see if you've improved or regressed. The 30 day trend view gives you a high overview of how your site performs.
Compare the performance of your site for users using different types of browsers. Which browser renders your site the fastest? Do you need to optimize your site for a specific browser type? What's the experience on mobile browsers?
Knowing the Bandwidth that your users have to your data centers can help you determine how rich or light your site needs to be. The Bandwidth distribution chart divides your users into well known bandwidth blocks and reports on how many users fall into each block. You can further drill down into a single bandwidth block to analyze your site's load time histogram, browser and geographic distribution for users within that bandwidth block.
Complex sites are often built with a few templates each of which is have their own performance characteristics. Each template may be rendered with different content, each with their own URL, but from a performance point of view, they may look the same.
Page Groups help you summarize the performance characteristics of groups of pages that belong together. Your home page may make up one group, while your product pages make up a second. Your search results and checkout pages may also have their own groups.
Pro Accounts can create up to 25 page groups.
Knowing how your site performs from different parts of the world can help you determine if you need to locate your data closer to certain regions. You can also drilldown into separate page groups at the country level.
If your business depends on traffic from a specific geographic region, you may want to take the geographic drilldown one level further and look at performance within one or two countries.
Drill down into regions in the US & Canada by default. For other regions of the world, get in touch with us and we'll accomodate you.
Do you run A/B tests on your site? Perhaps you're testing out new CDN providers, a different page layout, or new performance tricks. Would you like to know which of these tests is the fastest and how they compare against each other? We allow you to tag the LogNormal code with the name of the currently running test so we can report on each test separately.
Measure up to 5 simultaneous tests. Contact Us to run more tests.
We've all seen the reports from Yahoo!, Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Netflix about how load time affects user engagement, sales and bounces. LogNormal's User Engagement Analysis feature allows you to get the same numbers for your own site. Find out if there really is a correlation between page load time and engagement, and if there is, find out how patient your users are.
